Frequently Asked Questions

General

Are Complementary Therapies safe in Pregnancy?

Yes. Complementary therapies can be safe during pregnancy when delivered by a trained professional and tailored to your individual needs. As a qualified midwife, I carry out a thorough consultation before each session to ensure that any treatment is suitable for you and your baby. This assessment helps make sure the therapy is safe, appropriate, and supportive for your pregnancy.

Is there anyone who is not suitable for treatment?

Yes. Complementary therapies may not be suitable for everyone. Common examples include:

  • Epilepsy

  • Insulin-dependent diabetes

  • Cardiac conditions

  • Expecting more than one baby

Other medical conditions or pregnancy complications may also make certain treatments less safe.

Your safety and your baby’s wellbeing are my top priority. Please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your individual circumstances so we can determine whether treatment is appropriate for you.

Where are you located?

I’m based in a garden treatment room in Hamworthy – Poole, Dorset.

Easily accessible by bus and free parking.

How long will my appointment take?

Most sessions are 60 minutes.

Please allow up to 1.5 hours for your treatment, especially if it is your first.

What are your booking terms & conditions?

A non-refundable 50% booking fee is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment.

The remaining balance is due 72 hours before your appointment.

All payments are to be made via bank transfer.

What if I need to cancel or re-schedule my appointment?

Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. With sufficient notice, your deposit can be transferred to a new appointment within 4 weeks.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will result in the loss of your booking fee.

If your baby arrives before your scheduled treatment, your deposit or full payment can be transferred to a postnatal appointment.

In the event of a medical condition arising during your pregnancy that makes treatment unsuitable, we will refund your booking fee in full — ideally we would still have at least 48 hours’ notice.

Can I buy a Gift Voucher?

Yes, Gift vouchers are available to purchase for a specific treatment or for a monetary value starting from £10.

  • Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and must be redeemed during pregnancy or within 3 months after birth.
  • If the treatment originally purchased is not suitable for the recipient, an alternative treatment of the same value may be chosen. If the selected treatment is of higher value, the price difference must be paid at the time of booking.
  • Gift vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Vouchers are non-transferable unless agreed in advance.
  • Advance booking is required, and the voucher must be presented at the appointment. Failure to attend a booked appointment without prior notice may result in the voucher being void.
  • Gift vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion unless stated otherwise.
